This is a Hamer USA Vanguard in Silver Sparkle finish (which was later called the Artist Mahogany P90 without the silver finish). The Vanguard was a model released for Hamer's 25th Anniversary. The silver metallic finish is very striking and has taken on a bit of a greenish hue with age. The semi hollow guitar plays great and has an incredible tonality from the Seymour Duncan P90 pickups. This guitar sounds great for Blues, Jazz, Rock, and everything in between. It will even get some great heavy tones. When playing with overdrive and performance volume, this Vanguard becomes a screamer. The hollow chamber resonates so well that you can feel it vibrate under your forearm. The combination can give you endless harmonic feedback and sustain (think Double Live Gonzo by Ted Nugent). The frets are in good shape with little or no wear, except for the 2nd 3rd and 4th frets under strings 2 3 and 4. Frets 2 and 3 under strings 2 and 3 are the spots that are the most levelled, and there is an indentation at those points. I've tried to capture that in the picture. No fret buzz at all from this. The guitar does have some wear, including a really good scrape on the headstock (pictured) which does not have any negative effect to the guitar's ability to stay in tune. There are also some small dings in the body (as expected on a 15 year old guitar that has been played).
The guitar comes with a brown LP style hardshell case.
