Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a somewhat rare Shure Brothers 737 A microphone produced during the late 1940's through 1960's. This particular model was nicknamed "The Waffle Iron" for obvious reasons and this model was actually used in the movie La Bamba as seen in pic # 2. This mic comes with the short cable and data sheet shown.

All 737 A model microphones were equipped with a uni-directional crystal elements. The element in this is 737A is 100% original and works very well. These were intended to be used with strong pre-amps / phantom power to boost the signal as the crystal mic has no transformer or any internal boost of it'sown. Even if you don't plan on using this mic it can still be used as a very nice prop or display mic.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        The satin chrome finish has very lite wear and looks quite beautiful as seen in the pics provided. It still has a beautiful luster to it as well. Let the pics be your guide. The burgundy silk shows zero discoloration and the side / rear silk screens all look great. As stunning color combination. There are no small rips or holes in the silk screens either which is a bit of a rarity. The joint mechanism works perfectly. The royal blue Shure label shows virtually zero use despite years of use.  The threads for the stand and cable as good as they get. This mic will screw onto any desk or floor stand you might have.

The mic is solid with no loose pieces inside or out. These mics are notorious for having a loose element inside but I always take care of that issue with all of my items for sale. I would rate this physically a very conservative 8 + on a scale of 1 - 10. This would make a nice display piece for any collector of vintage mics in the home, office or studio but don't be afraid to use it either.

The mic comes with a short 10 inch 3 pin cable in which to operate this mic. The cable is very soft and pliable and has the standard quality Switchcraft male XLR end connector. Simply leave the short cable screwed onto the mic then attach any longer XLR cable of choice when needed. This is far more practical to use and for storage purposes.

A copy of an old data sheet is also provided. A very cool accessory showing you all the specs and technical data needed. It comes in a plastic sleeve in which to protect it.

MICROPHONE STAND IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.

As with all my vintage microphones...

I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not...I have a no hassle return policy. The shipping will be on you as I believe that's fair but the purchase price would be refunded. Simply return in the same nice condition...period. Check my rating. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS are welcome as well. Buyer must pay within 24 hours or an unpaid case will be opened and the item will be re-listed. Domestic buyer will get priority shipping.

If you have any questions feel free to ask and...thanks for looking.
