About This Listing
Scott Walker Guitars Buffer and Booster. These two circuits are combined on one board, running on one 9v battery. This flexible circuit can be wired into a guitar that has a built in effects loop or a guitar that is wired standard.
For the guitar with an effects loop, the buffer can be wired before the loop and the booster section wired in after the loop. For a guitar without the effects loop, the buffer can still be wired right after the pickup selector, and the booster wired right before the output.
Each section can also be wired with a switch to turn on/off the function.
The circuits can also be wired in series, simplifying the wiring.
You get about 200 hours of plugged in time with this "text book" circuit. Both of the circuits utilize the classic J201 JFET, giving a very natural tube like feel and sound. It also utilizes audiophile Silmic electrolytic capacitors.
The Buffer circuit is set at "Unity" gain and the Booster section is set to go from 0-6 Db gain.
Two different versions are available, one with an external gain pot so you can control the gain from the booster section with a knob on the guitar. Or a version with a trim pot on the circuit board to pre-set the amount of gain.
There are 2 separate listings for each type (external gain pot or internal trim pot). This listing is for the external gain pot.
