If you've wanted to cop a classic American-made hollowbody for a fraction of the price of a Gibson, here is your chance!

This Airline Swingmaster P-5 was Barney Kessel's signature model from the early-mid 60's until departing Kay/Airline for his aforementioned Gibson model. This was one of Harmony/Kay/Airline's stabs at the 335 market and, with its wild control scheme & triple-pickup configuration, was squarely aimed at budding jazz/pop session players from that era. The guitar can yield quite a dizzying array of tones from its 4-way switch and six knobs, so if you want a Super 400 CES on a budget, here you go!

No headstock repairs, no major cracks or splits along the sides or in the binding. Guitar is in fine playing condition and all electronics (pots, switches, jack) seem to work flawlessly.

That said, the original "Kleenex Box" pickups WERE swapped out by a previous owner for Kay "Speedbump" single-coils. While these aren't the original pickups, they are at least period-correct for a Harmony/Airline/Kay hollowbody from the mid-60s.

-Non-original control knobs were also installed that do *seem* period-correct as well.

-Original trapeze tailpiece, wooden bridge and Kluson Deluxe keys.

-While the frets aren't worn, these are definitely NOT Dunlop 6105s so if you aren't used to playing a "fretless wonder", then do go into this guitar with that in mind. Small frets that aren't just vintage in feel, but actually vintage!

-Logo/Insignia removed from headcap

-Pickguard is long-missing, but there are repro's available on E-Bay.

If you would like any more pictures and of a particular spot or spots on the guitar, just message us and we'll be glad to get them to you ASAP!
