As far as vintage Les Paul Custom copies go, this 1970’s Penco is as classic as they get. Made in Japan, this one looks to be fairly all original with the exception of the tailpiece and pickups as seen in the pics, and in need of new frets. The old frets have been professionally removed in preparation for a refret job. A refret job will need to be done on this guitar to be playable or leave as is and make her a nice slide guitar. I’ve tested the electronics and the volume and tone control pots are all functional as are the neck and bridge position pickups and 3 way selector switch. Tuners, nut, bridge, top hat knobs, electronic controls all appear to be original. The pickups (Epiphone BHC’s) are not original and have been swapped out at some point. Neck is straight and truss rod has been tested as functional. With a refret job, she’ll be a great vintage rock ready beast I’m including the case as seen in the pics with this sale.
