Up for sale is a 1993 Guild DV62 built in Westerly, Rhode Island. This guitar is in good condition with only minor cosmetic flaws. I guild guitar hunt daily, all across the internet, and this model only comes up for sale a few times a year. This model was built from 1993-1995, and the Guild records show 146 were built. Guild records are not always perfectly accurate, but the number produced is very low from a factory that no longer builds Guild Guitars.
The Guild DV series stands for "Dreadnought Vintage" and the goal of this series was to produce guitars that captured a look and sound of highly desired, vintage acoustics. The build structure is similar to a D50, but with hand shaved, scalloped braces to create a very specific voicing for these models. The other DV guild models that were produced were: DV6, DV52, DV62, DV72, DV73, DV74, DV76, and the DV82. I have owned several of these models, and I highly recommend the entire series. For the hard core Guild Collectors, owning the entire DV series would be a dream come true, and this is your chance to add a rare one to your collection.
There are a few things i want to address with the condition of this guitar. It has dings, dents, scratches, scuffs, and swirling through out the guitar. There is a very visible scratch on the back of the guitar that appears to be just in the nitro finish. It is NOT A CRACK in the wood, although it looks like one i will admit. I have had my Luthier work on this scratch, and buffed it out and touch up the spot so that it is not near as visible. When you receive the guitar it will be ready to play right out of the box and need nothing. The gold Grover tuners show signs of ware, but are all working properly. There are a few spots where the binding has started to peel and change color. The fretboard and frets are in excellent condition with little to no ware. The action is excellent, and is very easy to play up and down the neck. There is plenty of saddle left for future adjustments, so this guitar is no where near a neck reset. There are a few small weather checks on the top, but they don't stand out to bad for a 26 year old guitar that lived several years without a case according to the previous owner. I have paired it with a period correct Guild Case that is in very good condition. I also shipped this case to the previous owner before having the DV62 shipped to me in order to keep it safe. It is also missing the plastic heel cap at the base of the neck.
Here is your chance to own a very rare vintage Guild in good condition for a reasonable price. The only guitars I buy/sell/collect are Guild Acoustics. I also have a Westerly D30, F47, DCE3, and a F44 that i will list for sale. I will have a great Westerly D55 listed sometime this weekend as well. I am always looking to buy more Guilds if you have one you wish to sell. Please message me with any and all questions and offers. I can send additional pictures if needed. I will have this guitar listed on all the other major online marketplaces if you prefer to contact me there. I prefer to make guitar deals privately through Paypal. This guitar is being sold as is, with no returns unless it arrives differently than i have described it. Thanks for looking and enjoy the pictures!!
