Built by Dave Bunker this a gorgeous Treker Custom Classic 57 Stratocaster style guitar with a tension free neck (explained below) in a gorgeous flamed maple finish. The humbucker and two single coil configuration with a 5 way switch is familiar to strat guys and the c neck feels fast and smooth.
According to the Bunkers, their Tension Free Neck has a 3/8" cold rolled steel bar to support the strings at the headstock. This is said to remove string tension stress from the neck, leaving it free to resonate more. This is also supposed to eliminate dead spots, while providing a quicker response to the notes you play. There are no dead spots on this neck.
As the story goes, (and it's an interesting one) the neck was conceived by Dave Bunker when he worked at Boeing Aircraft. According to Dave, he along a few of the structural engineers designed and developed the neck in their spare time.
The neck can be adjusted to forward or back bow through holes at the 21st fret and through the side of the heel. A 5/64th allen wrench works.
I like this guitar but as you can see from my listings I just have too many. My loss your gain on this well made Bunker guitar.
