Aria Pro II Magna Series MA 650 (see MA 50). It plays and sounds like a much more expensive guitar, but these are a bit of a secret. They were not imported into the US and the high end range models are really hard to find (it took me a year to find 3 with this switching system and a bound neck - the MA 50 and MA 650). Please see my listing for the MA 50 for more details. I am listing all and will keep the last. Lightweight, ultra fast with killer pickups-bright chimey funk, country or high gain lead..the unusual wiring combined with the great pickups make this sound fantastic, will cut through the mix.
Details:Neck...very slim 24 fret bound. Not quite as flat as an Ibanez Wizard, but getting there. The guitar has been refretted and intonates great; it is an ultra-fast neck. Very stable - this guitar is 25-30 years old and the wood has done whatever it was going to already.
Pickups - Duncan HB in bridge (either SH-11 or SH-14)...medium output, won't smash your preamp, but is very harmonically rich when it meets overdrive. Really crisp and articulate.
/Middle - stock Aria dual blade humbucker - like a hotrails/Neck - (my favorite) Seymour Duncan duckbucker wired out of phase...super chimey and round, cuts through the mix really well and doesn't have the mud. Well balanced with bridge.
Electronics - new pots and switches (see hardware, too). You can mix and match pickups...each humbucker pickup is wired to its own 3-way switch...Full HB/tapped single coil/off
Hardware and body - this came out of Japan and the seller omitted key details (like all the frets were popped and all of the gold hardware was horribly pitted). In addition to a professional re-fret, all hardware has been replaced - Gotoh 6 in line tuners and a Takeuchi replacement treemolo. The trem arm is a standard screw-in. It is properly set up and has very little use. The body is in very good shape; there are a few dings, one filled in, but not noticeable. Very lightweight body and great upper fret access because of heel-less bolt on. Schaller style strap-lock end pins. Everything re-assembled and set up by a very good luthier.
Color: Midnight blue with a pearl sheen that may not show up in every photo. It is really beautiful. I had intended on doing a refin to match another MA650 that I had redone, but I loved the color. The paint is in good condition and should last.
Case not included.
This is a great place to sell and buy gear; there are a lot of really nice and cool people out there! Not everyone has the same expectations or wants, however. I am open to offers, but this isn't a garage sale, so I will respectfully decline unreasonable offers and hope that those bidders find what they are looking for on Reverb. Likewise, if I make a counter-offer, that is final, firm price. Any subsequent counteroffer will be declined. Life is too short for haggling!
IMPORTANT – If you didn’t read above, the description is important! Read it closely, please!!! This is a used item. I have tried to describe it in detail, but remember that it may not be set-up the way you like, parts wear out and sometimes break when you least expect it. Pots can be scratchy, solder points break, capacitors expire, and necks certainly adjust to the weather – No seller can guarantee that a used item will be free of all of these issues every time.
What I can guarantee is that all of my equipment for sale has been used by me and meticulously maintained throughout my possession. If I can’t use it, I don’t sell it. Every guitar, pedal, etc. is played and checked before I ship it. If I find an issue after a sale is made, I will advise the buyer. If need be, I will cancel the sale and issue a refund before shipping.
What I can’t fix…Buyer’s Remorse…if you were feeling impulsive and decided to buy that guitar at 2 a.m. and then feel that regret when it shows up on your credit card statement and your interest has changed, something even shinier has come up for sale, or you have an unexpected bill for something totally not fun like an auto repair bill- THE SALE IS STILL FINAL. I have bought lots of gear that didn’t work out, and some that I shouldn’t have spent the money on, but I just turn around and sell it, like everyone else in the same spot. IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS – PLEASE ASK BEFORE BUYING; I WILL BE HAPPY TO RESPOND.
I am a little choosy about my customers – which may sound crazy, but I want you to be happy!
· I will not communicate outside of Reverb or honor any request to set up a “side deal”.
· I don’t meet up with people so that they can kick the tires or play games (like bringing less money than agreed upon) – this is not Craigslist. I don’t do local pickup.
· If an item is not listed as open to offers, it means that I have established my firm price (haggle free!) and you don’t need to message me with offers…or a supreme court argument about why my price is much too high or how you want to help me out of a jam by “mercifully” offering me pennies on the dollar. You will find what you are looking for, but I may not be the seller who has it. That’s OK- Reverb is fun, right????
We could be watching golf, but we are on here and u-tube all night jonesing on gear. I have learned a lot from people telling gear stories or tech tips – always welcome. Thanks so much for looking at my store!
