Here is a pair of original 1963 Wharfedale W60 speakers in nice
condition. The cabinets are in very nice shape, with a vintage finish
that looks decent. These are the unusual UTILITY cabinet option which did
not use walnut veneer or the front grill wood piece. These were plain heavy ply constructed cabinets that came with a standard style appearance and plain clear wood veneer that the owners could finish as they chose. The grill cloth is
fine, and the badge logos are intact. The back plain ply panels are also
fine but one has had the top ply pucker up. These have all the original
and sought after drivers, and the caps are original. This is the original early 60s two way ported version. Both have the red banded
woofer and Super 5 tweeter. The caps
have drifted a bit out of spec but are still functioning in the
crossover - I am leaving the replacement up to the next guy as people
tend to get particular about paper/foil/film foil caps, poly caps, high voltage
caps, etc. They work fine and sound wonderful, and I had been using them
on a second system but these are now extra and I am letting them go to
their next home. For those who like to
ask about back story I got these in a deal with a turntable, which is
what I was interested in. These are nice sounding units and are ready to hook up
to your receiver or amplifier or done over to your specs. These were
really nice speakers and have a well deserved high end reputation. These are HEAVY
speakers and shipping is $100. Asking $200 for the pair. Due to customs issues, I prefer to ship only to the US. AK, HI and
territorial shipping may be more - please ask. Any questions, or
offers? Please let me know. Thanks for looking! Thanks for looking!
