Lance McCollum Grand Auditorium 2004 Redwood / Walnut

Here is a beautiful McCollum Grand Auditorium that is a work of art that also plays wonderfully. I've owned 100+ guitars and this one is PROBABLY the best of the bunch!  The extra depth gives it powerful bass response and the extra scale length allows it to handle alternate tunings (ie DADGAD) beautifully...Plays like butter!  Please note that this is a 2004 where I had thought it was a 2000 earlier.

The fine, straight grain of the Master Grade Redwood top resonates with power and grace, and the contrasting hues of the Claro Walnut back and sides is absolutely stunning. These tone woods are a perfect match for each other and give this instrument a confident voice that commands attention. The colorful Abalone and Mother of Pearl appointments, along with the Gold Hardware and Dyed Wood lines really set this instrument apart. 

Had it checked out by Randy Hughes, (Google Randy Hughes Guitars)  who does work for Al Petteway, Doyle Dykes and others and he said it was in great shape.  There is some slight finish checking that can only be seen in certain light.  a very very small spot by the bridge which looks like finish lifting, and just a very slight belly where it is not braced.  I would call it a 9.9 out of 10!  Has new Gotoh 510 tuners, K&K pure mini, and a heavy duty Armitage case.
