Gibson Blackbird (modified) 2002 Black

For sale is a modified Nikki Sixx Signature Gibson Blackbird and original case purchased in January 2003. It is used but very well cared for. Here are the modifications:

• This bass was a bit of a one-trick pony so I had it professionally modified with parallel volume-volume-tone pots and speed knobs. This was definitely the right thing to do, just check the video.
• I felt like the sustain could have been better so I had the bridge replaced later on and sure enough... the sustain improved.
• Neck dive was a total nightmare so I carefully moved the top strap button behind the neck and it's all good now.

Original switch, bridge parts, and opti-grab handle are included. Also includes original truss rod wrench, strap, and strap locks shown in the picture.

There are minor blemishes (see pictures) behind the head stock and on the tip of the head stock. I thought about having them professionally repaired before selling but Nikki spec'd these to have a rough paint job from the factory and they're notorious for not holding their finish as well as they might anyway so I opted to just go with it as-is. Also a chip in the lacquer at the fourth fret, bass side (see picture).

String action is at 6/64", it's clean, it's tuned, and it's ready to go. Send me a message if you want any additional pictures or have any questions.

I've never shipped a guitar before and the Reverb.com shipping estimator says $235.00 to the other side of the country but that seems a bit high. If it's less than that I'll provide a copy of the receipt and refund you the difference. I like to be fair...
