AMI LZ-01 Humbucker Pickup Set (hand-wound) like PAF - Black

Andrews Music Innovations (AMI) LZ-01 PAF Humbucker Set:

So there is this hard rock / heavy blues band I grew up with, who had a famous guitarist and his #1 Les Paul.  This set is a recreation of the Les Paul tone found on that band's albums, before the guitarist replaced his bridge pickup with a T-Top.  If you can guess who "LZ" is and are familiar with these songs, then you know the tone of these pups!

Both are wound with 42ga. wire.  The neck uses 'purple enamel' and the bridge 'amber enamel' coated copper (I tried the purple on the bridge and it just sounded like the albums using the amber).  Both have calibrated long sand-cast Alnico 5 magnets, Butyrate bobbins, heavy nickel-silver baseplates, brass screws, maple spacer, quality PAF grade steel slugs and screws.

These are not covered and not potted.  This was done to stay true to the originals and let some of the the overtones of the guitar get in.  I can pot by request for no charge, or can cover for an extra charge.  As-is, they take a good amount of gain and volume before they start getting microphonic.

Warning: the neck magnet is calibrated so it is a little dark, like the albums.  I can put a stronger charge on the magnet to lighten it up a bit, upon request.

I am offering up this set at less than the big names are charging for one of their 'antique' offerings. 

I've been winding since the 70's, test each pup and none make it to the outside world, unless they sound spectacular!  For years, I was a session & gigging guitarist, so I want to ensure awesome tone, reliability and affordability to anyone who buys my pickups!

Comes with mounting screws and springs.  Mounting rings and guitar not included.

I only have one set made at this time, but can turn them in 2 weeks + shipping time with notice.
