THE
Travis Bean Flying V Electric Guitar, Excellent Mint-like, 1977 Pots
One
of a kind, with some provenance!
Formerly
part of the now largely dispersed Bill Kaman (formerly Ovation Guitars CEO) Travis
Bean collection, often seen paired with the unique ‘Map’ Travis Bean.
This
is a retrofit as Travis Bean never made Flying Vs as production models.
It
does however have all its original Travis Bean guts, the TB white and yellow
wiring and original TB 1977 pots. Only the beautifully figured koa (like tiger
eye quartz that reflects differently in different lighting angles) body and
cavity cover are non-original. Strap buttons appear original as they are like
the buttons on my TB Artist model. Knobs not standard TB knobs.
Excellent,
pristine condition and working order.
Travis
Bean humbucker pickups. Looks to have been hardly ever played; frets are in
great shape, essentially no visible fret wear at all. Great action, smooth,
easy playing! Great
sound!
A
nearly indiscernible hairline crack between the pickups, even in bright
sunlight essentially unnoticeable. Otherwise in mintlike condition.
About
8lbs, 4oz, Nut
width – 1.54”
Also
included is the excellent Konig & Meyer like-new stand & like-new Flying
V hardshell case. These Konig & Meyer stands are great, solid construction
German engineering! Flat foldable and displays the instrument securely with the
stand itself hardly visible.
This
guitar is in Atlanta, free local pick-up for any buyers wishing to do so. Ships to contiguous U.S. only.
