For sale is a 1955 Multivox Marvel bass guitar. It is a very rare bass guitar part of the Multivox/Premiere/Marvel family of brands. Marvel first showed their solid electric body guitars to the public at the 1948 NAMM show.
This bass has an extremely fat neck which I can imagine was aimed at folks switching from stand up to electric at the time. The single coil pick up (which is stamped Multivox underneath) gives a nice round & thumpy sound. It looks as if one knob is unoriginal, and one tuner. The headstock has had one of the wings repaired. All electronics look to be original. It has been set up with flat wounds, & plays great.
Finding info on these basses is kind of difficult but there has been one reverb listing for one, & there is a page on the talk bass forum. Feel free to ask any questions or to request a video, etc.
