About This Listing

From the past, another real piece of history!
This is a 1989 Hamer Californian Elite Graphic Finish Custom Shop Left hander.
Serial 923050, indicating it was built in 1989, in approx september, and was the 23,050th guitar ever made by Hamer.
The neck is 27 fret, a unique hallmark of this guitar. Frets are in excellent shape with very minimal wear, and the neck is completely straight.

Hardware is original from when i bought it 12 years ago. Hamer branded OFR copy which works very well indeed with excellent tuning stability. Pickups are passive, i believe the bridge to be a Seymour Duncan JB due to it's tone. Electrics work perfectly with no problem. The unique Hamer side-mounted jack is probably one of the most simple and clever innovations that few others have ever picked up on!

The graphic is like nothing i have seen before, essentially like a wrinkled red silk sheet.
What is really unusual is that this has dot inlays on an almost ebony neck, not the boomerang inlays hat were standard on the Californian Elites of this period.

This guitar plays like a dream, the 3 piece neck is one of the fastest i have owned, and it is extremely comfortable; the sculptured body really was designed well on these.

It has only seen home use since i have had it, although i suspect was made for a hair band guitarist for onstage use.

Finish - The clearcoat over the graphic has a number of linear cracks in it. Nothing that is noticeable from less than 1 foot away. Also, there is some buckle rash on the rear upper cutaway. There is a small 5mm blemish in the clearcoat just above the humbucker. Please see the photos for a detailed view of these issues.

I have the back trem cavity cover and will replace that, and there is a trem arm for it, just not in the picture.
Comes with hard case.
I'm torn because i love this guitar. But i have way too many for the amount i play these days, and have always been more of a BC Rich man. If it doesn't sell then i'm not sad, but this guitar really deserves to have a home with someone who will use it more and enjoy it regularly! I've had it for 12 year; bought from Tom Tyner who like me was more of a BC Rich man, so it has seen very little use and no stage work.

This ships from Canada.

Will be carefully packaged and insured, and shipped tracked. This is sold as is, it will be insured for the maximum that i can do so, and will be packed extremely securely, with photos taken prior to mailing. It will only be returnable if there is a material defect that i have not declared honestly and frankly, and in it's original condition prior to shipping. I am an honest seller and my reviews testify to my clear and frank descriptions and photographs.

Selling only because i am emigrating and need to downsize my collection of 30 guitars. I have had this guitar for 12 years and it has been taken very good care of!
I have reduced this to $3000 CAD, most particularly because insured shipping from Canada must go via courier, as Canada Post will not insure over $1000. Thus, the price is firm.
Please feel free to ask any questions. Further photos can be obtained should you wish.
