Schimansky Mandolin in very good condition for its age.
Features: incl. Case
Finish: Natural French polish
This mandolin was built by hand somewhere within the beginning of the 20th century. It is not to compare with the thousands of factory instruments of the same time. Its quality is much better. This mandolin has a professional soloist sound and is set up for very comfortable playability. Everything works fine.
The body is made of Brazilian rosewood. The fretboard is ebony.
There’s an additional repair label inside the mandolin from 1933 from Willy Dreier, Berlin, who was a luthier at that time.
The fact that the body is made of Brazilian rosewood doesn’t require a CITES certificate for shipping within the EU, because the mandolin was built before 1947, and therefore it is a so-called pre-convention instrument.
