Here we have a one-off Custom Shop Guild 12-string. This particular guitar is absolutely stunning sounding and playing. The guitar itself is in very good condition and perfect working order. There are some dings and scratches throughout. Overall i'd give it a solid 8.5/10, especially given the rarity of this piece. The neck is straight with no issues, and the frets have minor wear throughout. This is definitely the nicest playing and sounding 12-string we've ever heard/gotten our hands on.
Here is some info from guild about the guitar.
"We do not have direct records of this guitar, so unfortunately I cannot provide documented info on it.
However, I ran these photos by Drew, our head luthier who has been with Guild since New Hartford (and was trained in by Ren Ferguson), and Chris Seeger, our finish specialist who has working in the Gibson and Fender custom shops - including work on custom Guild models. Here is the info I received from Drew:"
“From what I can see on that piece, it is Indian Rosewood on back and sides. Brazilian has a more distinct look and a darker more reddish hue. The top grain looks to me to be Sitka spruce. Red spruce has a wider grain pattern especially in jumbo size.
As far as I can tell, the major embellishments on this piece are the abalone purfling, abalone dots on the pins, and a mahogany and maple neck instead of mahogany and walnut. Talking with Chris Seegar, the Custom Shop never did anything special with bracing. They used standard bracing from Westerly for the build and pretty much just put the best embellishments they had available on the guitars. As one final note, the person who ordered this had their name placed on the inside which is good if they are famous but often makes it a harder sell when they are not."
I hope this info is helpful! Please let me know if you have any further questions about this guitar.
