For sale is a 1958 Gibson J 50 fresh from the restoration shop. As you can see from the photos of the receipts I have $1250 into the repairs alone! And it was well worth it, this guitar sounds and plays amazingly. Everything that could need to be done has been done to this guitar already. All loose braces have been addressed with hide glue, the neck has been reset perfectly, it has a new nut and a new saddle, cracks (couple on the top and back) have been repaired with hide glue, The pick guard has been re-glue down, the bridge has been re-glue down, the Truss rod adjusted, and a set of original tuning machines have been installed. This guitar is quite loud and very balanced with beautiful highs, medium and low tones, and that classic Gibson sloped shoulder sound. The only thing on this guitar I can find that is not original is, for some reason somebody sanded the finish off the back of the headstock, I decided to leave it as is as the photos show. This guitar is 100% ready to play and gig with and again it sounds amazing! It is now very stable and very sturdy. It comes with a non-original hardshell fitted case.
