I had an interesting conversation from a fellow musician and Parker Fly lover. He knows Ken personally and he recognized Ken's printing and then confirmed with Ken that the price tag pictured was actually filled out by Ken .
This is a 1998 Parker Fly Artist that was custom ordered at the original Parker factory. The Parker Fly Artist model is a Custom Shop model, much like Gibson’s Custom Shop, these guitars are made by Parker’s best and most talented luthiers and the years from 1993 through 2003 are the years that Ken was running everything and are the most sought after Parkers.
Beautiful paint job that shows the beautiful grain of the sitka spruce body.
The original purchaser was a performer who ordered several custom Parker’s to take on her European tour, due to personal reasons she had to cancel her tours and sell the guitars. This was one of those guitars. The guitar is in excellent condition with no dings or scratches. Note, there is (1) very small paint chip at the rim of the truss rod opening, the picture makes it look larger than it really is. This guitar is all original except for the installed Schaller strap locks (originals included) and a newer Hiscox case. The sale includes the guitar, case, some case candy(Parker Luggage Tag, Parker “Y” Cable, Wrenches & Original 1998 Price Tag ($4,167.00 filled out by Ken). Also includes the original strap posts and Schaller strap locks, Black nylon guitar strap, Digital Tuner and a few picks. Since this is 1998 it is in the prerefined era. The custom ordered guitars have the customers preferences and in this case she wanted point to point wiring and not the very fragile ribbon cable. It does not have the stereo switch but will automatically go to stereo if a stereo cable is plugged in. The knob layout is different but makes sense and with the three knobs and wiring was a precursor to the Mojo layout. This is a hardtail and to me has better sustain. This guitar plays very smooth, currently set up with 9s, very low action and no buzzing. It has enough versatility to cover any genre of music. International. Terms are negotiable.
