While many boutique guitar builders rely solely on time-tested body shapes borrowed from the '30s, Bourgeois introduces something altogether original with the JOMT. Somewhere in between the size of an OM and a Dreadnought, the JOMT retains the balance of the OM, but with much greater presence, a more robust voice, and a greater dynamic range. While its sound is big and more than capable of jumping across the room, the JOMT sits comfortably on your lap thanks to a tighter waist and thin body.
This Bourgeois JOMT Custom (serial #8508) features an "Aged Tone" Torrefied Adirondack Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides. Although the JOMT body may be new and fresh, it features a prewar-appropriate 1-3/4" nut width and a comfortable modified V neck profile. Its tone is powerful and inspiring, but it remains impressively balanced across the register. It is warm and full sounding with a huge dynamic range, but it doesn't lack treble detail, and its bass presence is never overpowering.
