High-End Sound Without the Hassle of Setup: Music Hall
MMF-7.3 Turntable Features Isolated DC Motor With Speed Controls and
Pre-Mounted Carbon Fiber Tonearm for Plug-and-Play Ease
The Stereophile Class B Recommended Music Hall MMF-7.3
turntable is designed to give analog enthusiasts and sound-obsessed vinyl
newcomers more time to spin records by eliminating the hassle associated with
setup, measurements, and installation. Unlike most high-end turntables, the
plug-and-play MMF-7.3 with the optional, preinstalled Ortofon 2M Bronze
cartridge (a $440 value) leaves the factory ready to provide you with luxurious
analog sound. (MMF-7.3 is also available without a cartridge.) Music Hall does
all the work for you. A pre-mounted carbon-fiber tonearm with flexible wire and
built-in spirit level mean all you need to do is place MMF-7.3 on its playing
surface and you're in business. A host of high-end design elements and parts –
including an isolated DC motor with speed controls – ensure rich, audiophile
sonics.
Great Sound, Low Fuss, Sharp Looks, and Everything Else You
Need (Even a Dust Cover)
The two-speed, dual-plinth ‘table's sound-reproducing
components – platter, main bearing, tonearm, and cartridge – are isolated on
the top platform and away from the adjustable tip-top feet on the bottom
platter. Meanwhile, a DC motor with 33RPM and 45RPM speed controls resides on
its own platform, completely decoupled from the turntable, yielding outstanding
vibration control. Additional damping and suspension is provided by sorbothane
hemispheres, which separate the two platforms. A high-precision stainless-steel
main bearing sheathed in Teflon for low-noise operation, non-resonant acrylic
platter with a record clamp and felt mat, dust cover, and 45RPM adapter round
out this high-value, high-performance ‘table. If you want great analog sound,
low fuss, and sharp looks, the high-gloss MMF-7.3 is at the ready and 100%
Music Direct Guaranteed.
“If I were of a mind to spend my C-notes on a turntable in
this price range, the Music Hall MMF-7.3 would be at the top of my
money-grubbing list.”
