Abbott Monarch Banjo Ukulele, # 4484, dated close to1928. An early ‘deep spinner’, 'sailor hat' slot model made by J. G. Abbott and Co before they became part of Besson. The spinner has a pot depth of 1 and 1/2 inches. The head is taut with room to adjust further. It has the early V shaped neck with a shallow heel made with two thin bands of ebony around a mahogany heel block. The curly maple two piece neck has an ebony lamainated strip down the center. It is very similar to Formby’s model. The hardware appears to be all original, plating is in very good condition but could use a polishing. The head is good quality but photos show some streaks of discoloration. The resonator has minor scuffing and one small "bend" up in the lamination along the inner binding. The button on the back was replaced with a new UK sourced replica. The uke is set up with Cleartone strings. Free Shipping in Continental U.S. Timely returns honored. That's how I like to shop. Thanks for looking, Corey
