Hate to let this go but I'm moving across the country and wouldn't want to put this thing through the trauma (cool with doing it to my cats, though?).
I've been using this as the main controller and "workstation" of a computer-less (ok, technically the MPC1000 is a computer) setup for about three years and I love it so much. Everything on this is in perfect working order: all sliders and buttons are clean, the key-bed is responsive (aftertouch!) and the action is quick, and the joystick – while missing the flanged knob – is still springy. All outputs and inputs work. Yeah, inputs! You can create your own (monophonic, super-short) samples, then use the DSS-1's ANALOG filters to make them sound lush and funky. You can even "draw" your own waveforms using the data sliders, and save them to a 3.5" floppy.
Speaking of which, the floppy drive on this one still works perfectly (they're often not working on these, I hear). And along with the original system sounds, I'm throwing in an additional floppy bursting with huge ARP OMNI samples, created by Synthcity out of Wisconsin (find them on eBay; they have tons of additional DSS-1 sample libraries). Oh man, not only that but I'm including this IBM USB-3.5" drive. PLEASE NOTE: the drive doesn't work with Apple computers. In fact, since I don't own a PC, the drive is untested. I got it at a yard sale for $5!
Also comes with the original power cord. Get this thing! Local pickup only as it's kinda heavy!
