Vintage 1973 Colorsound Overdriver, all original and untouched in nearly mint condition - extremely rare find. Technically flawless and sounding great. This is an investment piece.

In addition this is the highly sought after BC184 transistor version, which is what has been used as the basis for the Stuart Castledine Reissue commissioned by Sola Sound / Macaris to revive this legend.

All parts original, not a single solder joint has been touched. It even has retained the original battery clip (very rare). Very clean inside and outside.

Due to the steel case the Colorsound pedals of late 60’s and early 70’s are often found in a bad shape - rusty with paint chips and other issues. This one is as clean as you will find one of these (this is the first one i’ve seen in such a great shape in 10 years of keeping an eye open for these).

There are some very small scratches in the paint and some faint rust residue within the scratches, but these are so small that it is even hard to show them in pictures. There used to be a sticker on the front slope of the pedal - in that spot there are some more thin scratches in the paint (see last two pictures, where i tried to document these small marks up close). Also some scratches on the metal domes of the knobs.

The date stamp says it is built on November 21st 1973. Very low noise floor for this type of circuit (lowest from 6 units i own or have owned, including modern reproductions), very dynamic to the touch or volume pot of the guitar. Able to produce everything from a clean boost, to overdrive to a well defined and strong fuzz - from clean to mean all by just turning the volume control on the guitar. I have not seen a more touch sensitive pedal than the Overdriver/Power Boost circuit. Very effective Treble/Bass EQ.

One of the most versatile pedals ever built despite its age of almost 50 years. Famously used by David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) during the 90’s era, before that he used the Power Boost in the 70’s, Jeff Beck (Yardbirds among other bands), Marc Bolan (T-Rex) and Jan Akkerman (Focus).
Pictures are part of the description, please ask, if you have any questions. I can provide further pictures if you are interested in some particular angles/parts.

The pictures are part of the description. No returns accepted, unless the pedal is not as described.
