Vintage 1993 Alvarez Dana 4-String Active Bass

This solid body  electric bass has a 24 fret 2-octave neck with a rosewood fretboard. This is one of the very early Dana active basses from 1993. I talked to Dana himself and he said it was one of the most vintage early models. The body has nice contours and the body is offset from the neck to improve playability. The headstock and the rectangular pearl position markers also add to the overall look. The active electronics were really early for active circuits and were not functioning perfectly, so the bass was upgraded to a modern current Bartolini system  2 band NTBT preamp HR2.3 with volume, treble boost and cut, bass boost and cut and pickup selector switch. Now it sounds great. These basses sold for $1000 when they were introduced.
