About This Listing

I am playing a game with myself. I am remodeling my house in France exclusively with amps and guitars money from my VERY large collection. Also when the tube amps passed 40 and the guitars 250 I just plain need the space!  I have vowed to sell at least 100 guitars and 30 amps. I am going to try to limp along with a dozen tube amps and about 100 guitars.  All my gear is strictly top drawer, many unique, quite a lot brand new, never played. Just have the usual disease and fortunately or unfortunately the ability to indulge it a bit. All my gear is kept in a temperature / humidity controlled warehouse if not at my home, also humidity and temp rock steady year round. This is a one time opportunity to get some very rare and special gear at reasonable prices. I pack the living hell out of what I ship and charge about half of the actual shipping cost and nothing for boxes and packing material.

Just one more rare model I am letting go. I just love this amp but as I have two I will let one go. You will need to hit the web to see why this is such a cool amp. Super rare Silver Jubilee TBR, note the "R" meaning reverb. They only made a handful with reverb. This is one of the VERY last Vox AC30's actually hand built in England and with the hand written serial number on the back. I keep the tattered grill cloth because I think it is cool looking, actually other than that the amp is super clean. The speakers had already been swapped out which sounded ok  but I had two issues with the amp, one , it was too damn heavy and second , too damn loud even playing with the gain. What I did was make a baffle to plug the second speaker hole [ you need to do this if you ever take on speaker out of a twin cabinet] and installed a 16 ohm Tone Tubby hemp speaker [about $325] and also replaced the original frankly crappy reverb tank with an Accutronics, same brand as original just way better quality these days. It sounds like a million dollars, way better than stock and just a  little more control but still can rock the house no problem. That is the joy of the Tone Tubby and why they cost so much. Another very cool feature is that the voltage can be changed with the switch on the back panel. Hey, I may just pull it from Reverb and take to France! Don't snooze.  Full service at Pro Audio, all new tubes, the works. I have more than the asking price in this amp at this point. If you pay the full asking price I will replace the grill cloth but it seems a shame, it really breaks the relic spell. I mean after all it is thirty years old!

Product Overview
With the AC-30 facing extinction in 1984 due to rising manufacturing costs, plummeting market, and what turned out to be the absolute rock bottom for quality in vacuum tubes, Rose Morris made a bold move by halting production of the handwired AC-30 and had the amp redesigned for a single printed circuit board in 1985.

These amps, manufactured by Audio Factors in the UK, are easily identified by the red and green rocker switches for power and standby on the control panel, which reads "THE ORIGINAL AC30 TOP BOOST". These amps were also available without reverb on the AC30TB model from the same era.
