I think this gentleman describes it best: "This is one of those "slip under the radar" type guitars. Hondo is a company that, for a while, changed ownership about every 2 weeks! As a result you'll see one model that's junk and another that makes you step back and re-examine the name on the headstock!
This All-Star H-702 sports 2 powerful mini-humbuckers that, when combined with the coil-tap, allows for a wide array of great tones. These are exceptional pickups...not just great for a cheap guitar...but great for any guitar! I've considered swapping them into my Tele, but why go to all the trouble when I can just play this guitar? Stop-tail...no trem. String through.
It has a small Strat style body with that great creamy white/yellow color that is just too cool. This is not a Stratocaster...not a Telecaster...not a Les Paul...it has it's own lane!
It's amazing how much guitar you can get for $340 if you keep your mind open. This one knocks any Squire out cold...and I really like many Squires!
