This Ibanez Roadstar II Bass looks like its has had a pretty interesting journey between being built in 1985 in Japan and when it ended up in my hands a couple of years back. Fortunately despite all of its scars from its years of reckless living all of its playable parts and electronics are intact to sing the tale. The headstock shape is pretty unique and was new to this 1985 model. Plays great! More info below:
Body: Basswood and Birch. The catalog lists the color as white, but its aged to a nice cream or egg shell.
Neck: 34" Maple neck with black dot inlays. Frets are in great shape and the truss rod is intact and functioning.
Pickups/Hardware: Original Ibanez Super J4 and Super P4 pickups. They play well and pack a punch!
Cosmetic Condition: The body and neck are heavily worn, with lots of insignificant cosmetic scratches, dings, and scrapes. All of the playable parts including the fretboard, headstock, machine heads and electronics are in great shape. I think the scrapes are part of what gives this bass such great personality and attitude!
Playability: Plays great and sounds great, with low action. Recently set up at NYC's Richie's Guitar Shop.
Modifications: At some point the pick guard has been cleanly split to allow easy access to the input. The control knobs have also been replaced.
No case included.
