From renowned maker Bill Tippin of Marblehead, MA comes this amazingly open and resonant hand-built OM size guitar. Completed in 2002, the instrument remains in very good condition with just a very few minor marks/dings. The neck is straight and the action is comfortable. It is constructed of Khaya Mahogany, (a cross between African and Honduran grains) and a sinker "Salmon" Sitka Spruce top with a great tight grain. A bound Rosewood neck with decorative MOP markers, white body bindings and tortoise bridge round out the classic look. Perhaps the best feature though is the sound. Tippin uses his own proprietary adjustments to the standard "X" bracing to remove stiffness from the top. Although hard to describe sound with words, there is a beautiful shimmer when chording this guitar, as though each string is reacting harmonically with the others, and this creates a lively warmth and resonance that few guitars can boast.
