Extremely rare in left-handed 6 string configuration:

Left-handed lefty LH MIJ Japanese Ibanez Concord 647, VERY RARE 6 string version in excellent Collectors grade condition.

Please note - Ibanez Concord models ranging from 1971 to 1975 in very good to excellent condition are now rare – and extremely difficult to find in left-handed,

These guitars are in great demand among both collectors and pro-level musicians - due to their exceptional quality workmanship and great sound.

I have never seen another left-handed version of this model 647 Concord in 6 string config.

This is “No Serial Nr” example indicating very early run from Ibanez Fujigen Gakki and approx. 1972 – 1975.

Comes with a hi-end Tweed style wooden construction hard-shell case with Purple “fur” style interiors and gold finished hardware – separate cost for the hard-case was over £80 and only used for storing this wonderful guitar.

647 model is based on the classic Fender Kingman design with the well-known Stratocaster-style large headstock, which was only made for a short time in the "Pre-lawsuit" era and before 647 Concord was discontinued altogether in 1978.

647 model along with others from Concord range such as 647/12, 699, 750, 752 and 753 are included in the 1974’ Ibanez Japan catalogues as a part of the Concord series - please check with vintage Ibanez Japan fan pages, forums and other resources avail. on-line.

Traditional Dreadnought design with selected fine grained Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides with a high gloss Natural finish, showing lovingly crafted details and has a very full and defined sound with a loud, beautifully resolving resonance. The tone woods pairing gives this 647 Concord model a very appealing warm, deep sound, which is ideal for chords / "rhythm work" and harmonies and deliver singing highs, wonderfully carrying mids and round basses – allowing also for a very decent solo work, especially in blues, bluegrass territories and fusion style.

Model 647 from Concord range comes with Rosewood fretboard featuring classy looking block pearloid inlays, 21 frets and nut width is 42mm, the neck profile is medium with very soft “V” profile, which fits comfortably in the hand and makes playing the guitar a pleasure. The “playing feel” comes close to that of an electric guitar. The round sound hole has a multi-stripe acrylic rosette, and the front of the body comes with a black Fender Kinman style of pickguard.

This lefty 647 example is currently set with a comfortable low to medium string action – and is all original (nut, saddle factory fitted Ibanez Japan chrome plated machine heads etc.), no cracks or former repairs, in overall excellent condition with minor marks here and there typical for an instrument of 50 years of vintage (please see photos and /or ask for details).

Overall A+ excellent condition / Collectors grade with minor marks here and there - considering it is over 50 years of vintage.

Don’t miss a chance to own a great piece of vintage 1970s Japanese luthier’s art from Ibanez Fujigen Gakki – and it is left-handed!
