Extremely rare Ovation Breadwinner body in a red textured Lyrachord finish. As you can see, the body does not have active electronics and had a bridge and pickups not found on the later production models. Ovation supplied the Partridge Family with numerous instruments during the show's run and provided David Cassidy with his own Breadwinner prototype which came up for auction on eBay several years ago. I've provided a reference photo (last photo) of this guitar where you can see that its pickups and hardware are identical to those on this body. Of the two pots, one has a visible date code that appears to read 1346828 dating to the 28th week of 1968, three years before production models were released. The date code of the other pot is partially covered by solder. The control knobs are vintage T-series Peavey replacements that complement the hardware nicely. Cassidy's guitar appears to have had Gibson speed knobs.

Blue is thought to be the rarest of the Breadwinner finishes. A Google image search for "blue Ovation Breadwinner" will produce results for several unique instruments in that finish. The same search for a Breadwinner in red will only produce results in transparent red Deacons in a gloss finish rather than Lyrachord. The listing is for just the body and the case. I've provided an image of the body with a Tele neck for reference (second to last photo). A neck and neck plate are not included. I've provided pictures I hope will help answer any questions and/or yield more information from those more knowledgeable or who may have seen this guitar.

The case is in overall very good condition and all hinges and latches function without issue. There are some patches on the bottom side that are adhered with glue or epoxy. Removing them may be difficult but a person would be hard pressed to find a Breadwinner case in better condition. The instrument will of course be sufficiently packed for safe arrival and thank you for looking!
