This is my Victor Baker Gig Pro Jazz archtop Guitar Serial Number 141. This one has that wonderful L-5 vibe. I believe it was built in 2005. Geogious woods on this baby. The woods are even more impressive in person. Features all solid woods, bookmatched, quartersawn and all hand carved. The guitar has a low profile neck so playability is wonderful. A pro level instrument in every way. Jazz chords are lush and articulate. Single note melodies are clear and full bodied. Love to play chord melody on this baby. It has all the tonal attributes of a great jazz guitar, with a round, warm and even sound. Would be a great addition to any archtop collection
The guitar has a few modifications which were done by the previous owner. All work on the guitar has been done professionally; namely, a new benedetto tailpiece, new end bracket, a new bridge and Pearloid dot position markers – all done by Appollonio Guitars. Love all the changes!
The guitar looks and sounds beautiful both acoustically and amplified. The instrument is in excellent condition as can be seen from the pictures. There is a slight seperation at the heel. You can see in the picture that its the width of a piece of paper. It was there when I bought the guitar roughly 5 years ago and has not changed. I had my gutiar tech look at it when I bought it and it continues to be stable and doesn’t require any action. I priced this to reflect this issue though after all these years, I doubt it will ever be a problem. Otherwise a few small marks from string changes on the sides of the headstock is about it.
The guitar comes in a shaped vintage tweed TKL case which is in excellent condition.
