Don't let the price fool you, this unit uses the correct transistors and diodes utilised in the Interfax Harmonic Percolator.
The gain range for the germanium and silicon transistors were hand selected for optimum tonality.
If you're looking for the Albini tone, this unit has it. Not all Percolator repro units do. It is easy to use the right parts, but end up with an awful sounding Percolator. The parts count is low, but they're all critical to get right.
This unit has that super smooth tonality with the slight octaving in the lower register. It's a huge organic fuzz with a lot of sustain.
Unlike the original, my unit has an led and the choice of a PP3 battery or a centre negative Boss type power supply. I recommend using a zinc carbon PP3.
You can pay way more, and get way less. My unit has the right tone, and is a pedal board friendly 1590BB size.
No graphics, no hype, no nonsense. No 'boutique' flim flam. No 'boutique' price tag.
