Neck-thru Ibanez one-off custom 7-string, built in 2000 for an endorsee, in the Ibanez LA Custom Shop that only builds for endorsees.

The body is shaped like an Ibanez S model, with the tapered body cross-section and output jack in the top face. The body is made of mahogany wings with an approximately 3/4" thick flame maple cap (that tapers toward the edges), and the body total thickness is thicker than the stock Ibanez S guitars I've owned--approximately 1 3/4" total at the center instead of 1 1/2" total. The neck is neck-through, maple, with the neck profile thicker or fatter than the stock Ibanez 7-strings I've owned. The headstock is thicker than stock. The neck width is wider than the stock Ibanezes I've owned, especially at the nut (see pics, how the neck is a bit wider than the locking nut), but the string spacing at the nut and the bridge is the same as stock Ibanez 7-strings that use this trem.

It has the Ibanez Lo Pro Edge 7 trem, black, and custom DiMarzio H/S/H pickups. It's stained a dark red with a thick clear coat. It comes with the trem bar and the original Ibanez hardshell case. The strap buttons work with DiMarzio strap locks, so I will throw in a set of the DiMarzio strap lock mechanism that goes on your guitar strap. It plays smooth and sounds thick and full.

The cosmetic condition is very good but not excellent. It has been gigged; it was an endorsee guitar. :) The black plastic mount that holds the 5-way switch has a crack all the way through one half of it (see pics; I circled that crack through the plastic), which is common on S series Ibanezes, but it works fine. The cover for the trem springs cavity is missing (see pics). The case has scuffs and a couple white marks on the outside (see pics).

There's lots of pick swirl and tiny hairline scratches or scuffs in the clear coat that only show up in bright light (see pics), especially on the top face near the pickups, on the top face at the body edge near the rear strap button (circled in the pics), on the top face above the trem (circled in the pics), and on the back face between the trem springs cavity and the neck heel (circled in the pics). I took some of the pics under a super-bright LED lamp to make some pick swirl and hairline scratches show up. There are several bigger scratches that are easily visible, such as one above the trem springs cavity (it's circled in the pics), and there's a scuff on the tip of the headstock (circled in the pics). The previous owner (the endorsee, who I bought it from) scratched initials DMF in the back of the headstock (circled in the pics). But I don't see any chips or any scratches that go all the way through the clear coat (the clear coat is pretty thick). Check the pics closely.

The edges of the fretboard, on both the treble and bass sides, have some beveling of the wood there (most of it circled in the pics) and slight shaving or nicks into the wood of the fretboard (most of it circled in the pics), and the clear coat has separated from the metal ends of many of the frets (most of that circled in the pics). The serial # is blacked out in the pics for security reasons; I don't want the endorsee I bought it from to take heat from Ibanez. I will tell the buyer.

It's a one-off custom, from a shop that only builds for endorsees. You'll never see another one like it.

Will ship insured and packed extremely well; I've sold high-end guitars on Reverb before.

US only. All serious offers considered. Feel free to message me with questions about the guitar or the condition or for more pics.

Thanks.
