This is a PREAMP ONLY, perfect for recording, but requires a power amp to power a speaker cabinet. 

Here's what Alembic says about this model: 

"F-1X is the mono version of our classic F-2B preamp. We kept the same tone section and added a few goodies like a direct output, built in effects loop and crossover. You can still use it in a simple setup since the F-1X also includes a standard full range output. Tube warmth? It's in there, and with an easy interface of Bass, Middle, Treble, you'll find it hard to make the F-1X make a bad sound. Maybe that's why Bass Player Magazine gave the F-1X its highest rating, and why you rarely see one offered on the used market. Once again, everything functions perfectly.  There are few minor scratches on it, but nothing major at all.  In my opinion this only as character.  The frequency knob is missing the cap (See Pictures), however it has a notch on the knob itself to indicate where it's turned, so it doesn't make any difference.  It's in great shape overall!
