Alhambra Signature Series Mengual and Margarit Classical Guitar 2009; Alhambra purchased at Reverb and here is their discription:

The Luthier Mengual y Margarit features exquisite finishing and tremendous sound potential that provides the artist with the indispensable tools needed to express his musical ideas to the fullest perfection. Alhambra guitars are widely recognized due to their quality, design and sonority. The superb sonority is a result of the worker's professionalism, their meticulous working method, and their careful selection of woods.

The quality and reliability of the musical instruments manufactured by Alhambra, are assured thanks to the implementation of a comprehensive production process control system, which begins with the selection of the best raw materials.

The process begins with the best raw material: fine wood. hey are carefully selected at the place of origin and specifically purchased and imported to manufacture the guitars. Once they arrive at Alhambra's factory, the wood is naturally dried, a process that is lately stabilized through an automatic dry, which is possible thanks to use of use new technologies applied to this sector. Afterwards the different pieces are made, assembled varnished and polished to complete the process with individual tuning and sound control of each guitar.

This Alhambra features a Englemann Spruce top paired with Indian Rosewood for the back and sides. Engelmann is also known as white, European or German spruce, although they are technically different species. It is usually visually distinguishable from Sitka by its creamier complexion. Sonically, Engelmann has a mature tone, and yields a slightly richer midrange than Sitka, which makes a guitar sound a bit older. Old growth Engelmann tends to have a sonic attribute of smoothness or refinement to it, but the days of older growth Engelmann trees are essentially gone for now.

One of the most popular and traditional guitar woods of all time, rosewood takes the basic sonic thumbprint of mahogany. Rosewood sounds deeper in the low end and brighter on the top end. If you look at its frequency range visually, rosewood would appear to be more scooped in the middle, yielding less midrange bloom than mahogany.

This is in Good condition with a few things to mention. There is a small top crack near to bass side on the lower bout that has been profesionally repaired. There are also some light dings and scratches on the top, back and around the binding. A Barbera pickup has been installed and this guitar has a great sound thru an acoustic amp; has a zero glide nut; Please email any questions.
