We use 3/4" medium density fiberboards MDF which makes a great surface for powder coating, It is thicker and more durable than lacquer paints, It's also eco friendly  because it’s applied using a dry, zero-formaldehyde process that doesn’t leach harmful chemicals into the environment. The powder coating process results in a very nice textured and seamless surface that emits no VOCs and  it is more resistant to scratches, water, and stains.
