This is an incredibly rare vintage 1967 National version of the 335 "Bobbie Thomas" Style, model 830
They call them the non-Bobbie Thomas and they are more rare than the actual Bobbie Thomas, which is one of Joe Bonamassa's favorite guitars. This was the apex top of the line guitar for National with the best pickups, binding, block inlay, vibrato, etc.
I like to start out with disclosures...
A couple of big bangs by the controls. There is a crack by the top F hole. There is a headstock crack. The neck is straight, but it droops a tiny bit. (should be an easy adjustment) There is checking and all sorts of little things you'd have with a 50+ year old instrument. The guitar's finish is dull....have not gotten around to shining it up.
On the positive....
One of the rarest, great guitars you will ever find!
The pickups have specific tone that are incredibly unique!
These big Kluson Deluxe butterfly tuners are my favorite tuners of any guitar anywhere!
I don't think there has been a refret....but the frets are so good, I'm scratching my head.
The neck is straight.
Very good vibrato/tremolo.
Weighs in at 7 lbs 2 ozs.
If you were playing Wembley with this guitar....you'd be the coolest guitar on the stage that year!!! National's 50 year old version of a ES 335. Just flat out crazy cool and CRAZY RARE!!!
Will take the best reasonable offer. Looking forward to a great buyer who will cherish the instrument, but to combat the tide of flippers that buy and then try to renegotiate later by calling attention to some made up thing....we'll gladly take a complete return for any reason with a 50% restocking charge. If anything on the guitar is RADICALLY in all capital letters different than what we described....then we will give a refund for a 25% restocking charge.
