A Weber Sage 1 Octave mandolin, made in Montana... It features a Spruce top with maple back & sides, the Weber cast tailpiece and a thin matte lacquer finish. Comes in a plush lined hard shell case. I purchased it last year used, and sent it to Montana Lutherie for a complete overhaul by Bruce Weber. He added bracing next to the sound hole to address a warping in the top. You can see the stress marks in the second picture where the top was made to flatten out. He also replaced the old nut with a new bone one, and I had him create a custom made saddle and bridge with wedge sliders for height adjustment.. Made a huge difference in the action as well as the tone and volume.. You can see, in the first two or three pictures that shows the color differences where the old saddle used to sit. I saved the old saddle and bridge and they will be stored in the case. The last two pictures are of the instrument with the original saddle/bridge in place..
Right now it is set up with a custom set of flat wound strings that makes for really easy melody picking with no string squeaking usually heard on regular wound strings. You will love this instrument. It was a great introduction to the Weber Octave Mandolin line. I am replacing it with a far more expensive model.. Found a used Yellowstone Oval hole at a price I made myself afford.. This sale is for an older instrument and I can't offer anything other than "as described". A Weber for someone who can’t afford a Weber.
