1969 Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Beauty

OK, Here is one of the finest guitars I have ever owned, a 1969 Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Beauty. She does not have any issues but has been professionally refinished at one time. I look carefully at her and it is such a good job that you have a hard time confirming a refinish job or just a clean guitar!

The guitar’s serial number is 814713. This puts this guitar manufactured at Gibson’s Kalamazoo plant in 1969. She has all the appointments of a collectible, No volute, No Made in USA, ONE single piece body of mahogany, and it looks like a single piece mahogany neck. (I see no lines indicating that it has a 3 piece neck). I could be wrong with this point but an expert pointed this out to me.

EVERYTHING is ORIGINAL on her except the ABR bridge which had been replaced with an after market bridge in the 70s. It has been refretted  with higher profile frets as seen in the picture than that of The Fretless Wonder. (Jumbo frets?)

All electronics are original and she sounds sweet. As for her appearance, the finish is gorgeous with no buckle rash or irritating scratches, dings, etc!!!!  She weighs 9.5 lbs on my scale. (My scale is designed for people.) The case is one from the 1970s.

As these guitars sell between $10,000 and $14,000 all original depending on condition, my price at half this reflects the refinish job and an excellent price for a fast sell. I bought this as a keepsake for my collection but an impending move has cost me to sell her :(
