Set of vintage 1940's Waverly tuners, originally purchased from a luthiers shop, and labeled “Martin 000-28”. I’m no expert on the minutiae of old Martin tuners, but I believe these would be considered “Wartime” due to the thinner gears, and the adjustment screw, as on early 40’s Martins. Plastic buttons line up with the wartime restrictions on metal going toward the war effort. A nice set that includes no screws, but does include the ferrules. Great for a restoration to bring that 40’s Martin up to spec.
One tuner does not have the cutout on the base, it appears to have been that way orignally, as all the tuner buttons match up, and the patina on the metal is the same on all the tuners. If that is important, I am including one extra tuner from a different instrument that has the cutouts. This add is for the set of seven. The button appers to be of a different material as it is shrunken, and the metal shows a different patina than the original set. Not a perfect match, but could be placed in the case for a 7th Beatle kind of thing.
