2018 Gibson USA Explorer electric guitar (original serial # 18000xxxx, inked serial # 8 98xx). Aged / relic relic'd for a 1950s look (weather checking, dings, scratches, etc). Aged GOLD hardware. Aged plastic. Old school nitrocellulose lacquer finish KERRY GREEN; we stripped the highly plasticized Gibson finish (came off like rubber) and sprayed thin vintage correct 100% nitro lacquer (progress pics available to buyer). DiMarzio PAFs. Completely upgraded!

LIGHTWEIGHT at only 7.50 lbs! Mahogany body & neck, nice dark Rosewood fretboard.  Neck measurements: .825" @ 1st fret, .87" @ 12th fret.

Note: original serial # on Gibson packing list; it was removed and replaced with a vintage correct 1950s inked serial # using numbers from the original serial #. The "MADE IN USA 2018" stamp is still faintly visible.

• Pickups: DiMarzio 36th Anniversary PAFs. Double black bobbins under the gold covers. For our PAF® 36th Anniversary Neck we wanted to continue in the path of pioneers such as Seth Lover (designer of the original Patent Applied For humbucker) and create pickups that combine all of the characteristics of great vintage humbuckers. These pickups are not merely clones. We re-engineered the PAF® using our patented technology and Larry DiMarzio’s own 1959 cherry sunburst Gibson® Les Paul® as the reference. Larry’s Gibson® Les Paul® has a uniquely amazing sound and it’s not only due to the pickups — it’s the total fusion of many elements of the guitar itself.
  
  
• Aged hardware: gold vintage spec 50's style non-wired ABR-1 (yes, we removed the tone sucking Nashville bushings and re-tapped for the ABR-1 converting it to historic spec), gold lightweight aluminum tailpiece and studs, gold Kluson tuners, gold strap buttons.
  
  
• Wiring: CTS 500k pots; vintage 1950s Sprague Bumblebee .022uF tone cap; Switchcraft toggle switch; Switchcraft jack.
  
  
• Aged plastic: Gibson pickguard, Gibson knobs, Gibson truss rod cover, repro amber toggle tip, Gibson pickup rings, Gibson backplate,  repro plastic cream jackplate
  
  
• Case: Gibson hardshell (2018).
  
  
• Setup: D'Addario EXL110 (10-46) strings; action and intonation set. We set this up with low action and it plays buzz free (no fret wear and Gibson factory Plek); it is kept at 45% humidity and 75 degrees--you may or may not have to make adjustments for your environment (let it acclimate a day or so before tweaking). We also OILED the fretboard, and LUBED the nut.
