Vintage Kawai K3 Wavetable Synthesizer with Analog Filters & Envelopes + Juno 106 Analog Chorus circuit. 31 amazing wavetables (mostly), and an additional one that can be programmed to your specs.
This thing was barely played and sat in climate controlled storage after its life at a “IBM PC Lab”. The buttons are perfect, and I’d say it’s in A- shape cosmetically – pretty stellar for a 35+ year old synth. I replaced one key that was cracked and cleaned all the contacts. The weighted keybed is short/medium travel with amazingly responsive aftertouch, this is a TREAT to play and sounds HUGE. 6 voices. Easy as can be to program, and the last parameter adjusted maps to the wheel, so even though it looks like mostly buttons, there’s real-time control live. I was going to change the battery, but it still has a nearly full charge!
Sonically it fits somewhere in between a Roland JX8P and a DX7, but much easier to program on the fly than either of those. Wavetables do the PPG Wave. Does gnarly thwompy guttural bass in mono, wicked pads and bells in poly. 6 voices of additive/subtractive madness. Super easy to program, hard to make a bad patch on this beast. Construction is top notch, oh steel chasis. It makes an amazing controller, too. Looks 80’s as can be, the semi-sparkly gray/silver looks stunning in-person, and the display is crisp and vibrant. Neat origin story stencil left on the bottom.

I prefer not to ship this beast. Local pickup in Downtown Kirkwood, EAV, or Westview Studios. If you need it shipped, it will be carefully packed in a reinforced bass box. Thanks!
