This Prophet 600 was given to me in barter for services.  I have spent some time cleaning, rehabbing and determining what works and what doesn't.  The short version is I believe everything works...but 1 thing doesn't work perfectly.

I won't spend any time selling you on buying an analog either are that person who wants to program and loves what analog synths do...or you aren't!  And if you aren' really should buy another synth...this would be mismatched to your needs.  No judgement...people swear that vinyl sounds superior in every, I'm happy not to have pops and surface noise so vinyl is wasted on somebody like me.

All pots and switches have been cleaned and work silently as intended.  All keys on the keyboard work after a careful cleaning. (several didn't when I received it)  I reloaded the Factory Sounds via sysex dump. (hadn't done one of them in 25 years!)   MIDI function works as I was able to drive it with an outboard MIDI keyboard controller.  I believe all voices in both oscillators function as intended.  I'm not an analog synth guy so there may be some deep functions that I'm not aware of, but from my messing around it seems that all functions work as they're supposed to.  The membrane switch used to select the preset number works fine, which in researching I see is often a problem area.  Not so here.

The wood sides are often beat up...these originals are in very good condition and they look real nice after I took them off, lightly sanded them and applied a little furniture oil to them.

Here's the big BUT (you knew one was coming)...The reason I list the condition as only "GOOD" is that the LED that reads out the program number selected has 4 non-functional legs by my count.  See the picture to see what 88 looks like and you can see which legs aren't working.  The decimal point that indicates you're editing a voice also DOES work.   In going from preset to preset it didn't feel like much of a problem to me and many numbers will look normal, of course...but only you can make that call...if it's worth it to you, you'll have someone replace it or do it yourself.  I'm pretty tech savvy but I drew the line and de-soldering an LED from a circuit board. (quit while you're ahead, I say!)

So, the LED is the only thing I'm aware of that is not fully functional.   The battery inside may or may not be the original...however, I measured it just recently and it tested a full 3.0 volts. If that's the original battery, that's some kinda battery!  This unit is signed inside with the date of 1983.  It comes with the owner's manual.

It will be carefully packed and shipped...if shipping is less than the amount listed I will refund the difference.  If it's more by 10 or 15 bucks I'll eat it...a lot more than that and I may appeal to your sense of fairness.

One other thing:  I'm new to Reverb having just made the only a few feedbacks (that always made me nervous as a buyer) but I've been on eBay for 19 years with 197 / 100 percent positive reviews so feel free to check me out there for some peace of mind.  I'm listed as "canadianbush" on eBay.

I will ship only in Continental U.S.
