Up for sale, a 1970's Moog Taurus 1 vintage monophonic bass pedal synthesizer in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. The original iteration of Moog's pedalboard bass synthesizer, this Taurus 1 offers incredibly thick, sweet, and detailed low end rumble with ample on-the-fly tweakability thanks to two oversized Filter and Loudness sliders with grippy rubber pads, and six footswitchable buttons for the three presets and Glide, Decay, and Octave buttons.

The Taurus has three preset sounds (Bass, Tuba and Taurus) and one additional user programmable option. The variable preset is particularly useful, allowing users to synthesize their own sounds using the simple VCO, VCF and VCA controls. The shaping controls are located behind a plastic window to prevent accidental foot tweaking, and all original mini slider tips and knobs are intact.

The Taurus is monophonic, with sound generation coming from a straightforward two-oscillator design that can be tuned across a five octave range. An Octave button allows the user to shift the pedal keyboard up or down an octave, and the direction must be set using the Octave switch in the Variables section. There's also a Glide (portamento) effect and a Decay effect. The amount of Glide and Decay are also set in the Variables section. Like any Moog, the Taurus offers a 24 dB/oct lowpass filter with controls for Emphasis, Contour Amount/Attack/Decay and Cut-Off. Two gigantic foot-sliders flank the sides of the Taurus and they are used to adjust the Filter cut-off and VCA Loudness.

This Taurus is well-kept, with only light wear on the face of the synthesizer, aluminum caps that show only minor scuffing and clean wood veneers. One of the LED indicators no longer functions, but all other lights engage as they should.

The Taurus comes complete with a Moog flight case.
