Hello. I am offering realy RARE and 100% original vintage
bass from KLIRA.
Good condition
Working tuners, trussrod and electric.
Body: wood (maple?). Body shape like a jazzmaster/Jaguar bass
Neck: Maple Thinner “D” profile, rosewood fretboard, , 20 frets + zero fret, Scale: 800 mm ~ 32 ''
Pickups/Hardware: Nickel bridge and tuners, original KLIRA P-90 pickups, volume and tone controls
Cosmetic Condition: The top looks great with some dings and small finish chips.(See all photos) The sides have some wear in the binding and the back has light wear and scratching throughout. The neck is mostly smooth with some dings and the headstock has some edge wear.(See photo 11) Playability: The strings are nice and low, play great, and ring out clearly across the board.
Modifications/Repairs: all parts original
The Klira Kentucky produces some great surf tones. Amp+Reverb=bliss! Also recommend pairing it with your favorite vintage sounding fuzz pedal. This is a fine example of imported vintage rarity ! The bass is suitable for Beat, Garage, Punk and Blues Rock with its 60s typical shortscale growling.
Please see photos for details.
About:
Klira, together with Höfner and Framus, was one of the leading electric guitars and bass producers in Europe. In the middle of the 1970s, Klira had to file for bankruptcy. Accordingly the instruments, which are comparatively small in size, are all rarely handmade in Germany. Look at the photos, as you can see with what attention to detail the instrument was built. The pick ups are also own production of Klira (to be recognized by the metal stamped crown, the trademark of Klira) and have a very own sound. For PUs from the 60s, they have an unusually high output. Klira has not only been working on the body shape at Fenders Jaguar and Jazzmaster at the Kentucky, but also at the PUs. They are quite reminiscent of soap bars of a Jazzmaster.
