This is a rare 1997 Gretsch 460 Thin Line Acoustic Electric Guitar in very good condition. The body is the same size and shape as the Gretsch Duo Jet, but is a true hollow body, not chambered. The top is flame maple in Gretsch orange and the back is natural mahogany. Indian rosewood fretboard with a mahogany neck. Chrome hardware. Stylish Cat's Eye sound hole.
The 460 is a unique and rare guitar. Built in small numbers in the late 90s in Japan, they don't come up for sale very often. Their small size (13.5 inches wide and 1.75 inches deep) and light weight (5.5 lbs) makes playing very comfortable.
The top is in excellent condition. The upper strap button has been relocated to the back of the heel and the original hole filled in. The back has some buckle rashes and scratches with some chipping at the edges. The binding is in excellent condition. The neck is straight and the frets are in good condition. The action is low without buzzing. There is a finish crack on the back of the nut area. The piezo pickup sounds good, even through an electric guitar amp but really shines when played through an acoustic amp. The acoustic sound would be suitable for quiet practicing. Very well padded non-original gig bag included.
Shipping to the continental US via UPS is estimated by the Reverb calculator at roughly $60. If less, the difference will be refunded. International shipping is available, contact me for prices.
