This is a big 17” bout bruiser from the 50’s. Sports a solid carved spruce top with highly figured back and sides. Rosewood fingerboard with real pearl sharkfin inlay. Headstock inlay of pearl in rosewood veneer. This guitar has had a neck reset, pickguard and bridge replacement. The forward relief of the neck shown in the pictures creates a medium high action although it is acceptable at the 12 fret due to the reset. Light resonant construction makes this guitar a contender with any solid archtop of the time. This was a higher end Kay model and I would be sad to see it leave my collection. Strungwith round wound jazz strings.
