Up for sale, a 1977 Greco Project Series EG1500 LP Custom in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Essentially Greco's first custom shop, the Project Series models were special order only and produced in batches of roughly 40 instruments, with incredible attention to detail and top tier features and pickups not available on Greco's standard line. Taking its cues from a Gibson Les Paul Custom, the EG1500 features a nitro lacquer Violin Burst finish on the carved maple top and mahogany body. The stock pair of Maxon-made U-4000 PAF-style pickups feature alnico V magnets and are airy, smooth, and detailed, with enough midrange character, top end bite, and low end oomph to bring out the best in this Greco's tone wood compliment. The solid ebony fretboard adds a certain glassiness and note attack too, and the pickups read 7.87k ohms in the neck position and 7.96k at the bridge. The guitar weighs 10lbs 6oz and has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings and low action.

The three-piece maple neck has a fairly slender C shaped carved with modest shoulder, measuring .818" deep at the 1st fret and .946" at the 12th fret. The bound slab ebony fretboard features pearl block inlays and fret edge binding on the original fretwire. The stock frets show light wear beneath all strings on the crowns of frets 1-2, extending beneath the G and B strings until fret 10, with virtually no wear further up the board. The guitar features a 24 3/4" scale length and 1 11/16" wide nut. The headstock has all of the hallmarks of a Custom, with split diamond inlay, classic "open book" shape, multi-ply binding, inlaid Greco logo, and a set of original gold Grover Rotomatic tuning machines.

All of the electronics are stock, with full-size pots and untouched solder joints. Both Maxon-made humbuckers have the U-4000 designation etched on the baseplates along with the usual six digit Maxon stamps. The gold hardware shows only light surface patina, and all of the original plastic parts are present too including the witch hat knobs, pickguard, pickup rings, and switch surround. The top has a deep top carve with lots of belly, and the cream binding on the top is nice and thin in the cutaway, exposing the carve of the maple top just like a genuine vintage LP. The top shows light figuring borderline between subtle quilt and larger birdseye, particularly on the bass half of the top. The Violin Burst finish is 100% original with no touchup or overspray, and cosmetic wear includes moderate buckle rash on the back, with a few finish chips and nicks. There are just a few light finish scratches on the top and only one small nick behind fret 7 on the neck profile which is otherwise very clean with a smooth gloss that feels great on the palm.

This Project Series Greco is from the original iteration of Fujigen's Custom Shop, produced in sparingly small quantities and designed to be the best Greco had to offer.

A vintage Yamaha-branded Lifton-style brown tolex hardshell case with pink interior is included.
