This guitar is made out of very old wood - the alpine source is more than 400 years old. The tree was planted before Christopher Columbus discovered America - in 1457 AD, and lumbered around 1600 a.d. The maple for the neck is made out of Bosnien maple, in my opinion the best maple in Europe. Fretboard is Brazilian Rosewood (with CITES).
And how do you get such wood? The Austrian ski legend Hannes Schneider had a
hut in the Alps, where the ravages of time had nibbled but it had to be
demolished. Nick was able to rescue some of the usable planks and left them
with Dr. Examine Klaus Pfeifer for her age. The result is determined and
documented on a dendrochronological basis.
........ some time ago I had a guitar from Fender
masterbuilder John Cruz, who built a Strat from the 200 years old wood of the
"Ha' Penny Bridge" from Dublin - the sound of this guitar is
sensational .... so also with this PRE-CC. If wood has been used for decades -
in this case centuries of nature - modern methods such as "roasting"
or "gryo tuning" are unnecessary. The vibration behavior is
characterized by hundreds of cold winters, thunderstorms and summer heat.
